National Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 6 to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society. It marks the beginning of National Nurses Week, May 6-12.
Nurses are a pillar of American Health. Without RNs like Florence Nightingale and Clara Barton, the profession of nursing would not be what it is today. Nursing is currently over 3 million strong in the United States and growing. It is the largest sector of American healthcare and an invaluable facet in the continued advancement of modern medicine.
In a profession where going above and beyond is often the ordinary vs. the extraordinary, we would like to thank all the nurses. Nursing is needed now more than ever and shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you have recently chosen to enter the home care field of nursing or are a seasoned veteran who has weathered the changes throughout the years, we appreciate all that you do!
